El Sombrero Taqueria in Granite Bay

This is the most authentic Taqueria in Placer County we have found. Excellent food!! Great place for lunch. I'm super picky with my food and El Sombrero always gets it right.

This place is the BEST place in the Sacramento are for authentic Mexican cuisine. Great food, fast service, reasonable prices, and you get generous portions. Used frequently for call in and take out.

Easily one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Roseville. I will definitely be back. The soft tacos are amazing. I got a carne asada and Al Pastor taco. Both were on point. And the nachos are really good too!

Discovered this place a few months ago and it is now our absolute go to place for Mexican food. Small family-owned restaurant, friendly staff, and the food is always exceptional.

Great service and food. I've had all the Mexican food within 10 miles and this is near the top. Service is always friendly, the salsa is very good, and they just added onto the bar and added a TV. Perfect Taqueria for a bite or dinner with the family.

Came on a Tuesday for lunch and their taco Tuesdays are only after 5pm which was a minus. They should call it taco evenings... Ordered the super taco El pastor and was a bit disappointed as it only added sour cream and beans for twice the price and the El pastor itself was on the bland side. I may have expected too much when they called it super. Bigger taco perhaps? Anyways ... The chips and salsa were enjoyable though. Tasted fresh and crispy and the salsa flavorful but not overwhelming. Overall average experience. Might need to go again to try their other items.

Best taqueria around!!! Everything tastes fresh and is full of flavor from the veggies to the meats! That means a lot because I'm from San Francisco where there are TONS of good taquerias. This is the only one I go to in the area.

So disappointed! Paid $65 for a tray of 50 taquitos for the office and the taquitos were half the size of a normal one. So in reality I paid $65 for 25. The guacamole was nice and chunky but some of the pieces of avocado were not even chopped and were still green! What happened? First visit the food was excellent, second time not good, third time really good, but this time it was pretty bad. Need to be more consistent with your cooks to make sure quality is the same every time. It's so hit or miss I don't think I'm going to chance another visit especially because it's not cheap.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, we’re there all the time. Delicious food, great margaritas, no complaints. I’d rate them higher if I could. ❤️

i order my food with doordash and the restaurant switched my other and my food went to someone else and it was more money then mine.. the food is very nasty and dry this very bad for bussiness. this not right

Super great service! It wasn’t their fault at all but they made a whole new burrito because I asked for a change after it was already prepared. When I figured out that it was already made I told them not to worry about it but they insisted on making another. Super fast too! Will go back!

Street tacos are probably my favorite food and this is my favorite place to buy them. They're on the menu as tacos autenticos and they're very budget friendly and delicious

Way over priced... Poor salsa bar... I don't know why it has 5stars there are plenty of better Mexican restaurant that aren't as pricey as this one with same or better food Honest opinion

We met with friends at this place for lunch. my friend recommended this restaurant. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members were very polite and we felt excellent. The food was just great. We loved this place a lot and we shall definitely come back again. Keep it up.

Great family owned restaurant here in Granite bay. If you're driving to the lake and want some mexican food this place is must stop. Great beer and margaritas

I love this place so much. It is my go to Mexican restaurant. When I lived across the street I would frequent this place probably 4 times a week. I come from Salinas where you get true authentic Mexican food and when I moved to the Sacramento area I couldn't find that anywhere till I visited this place.Their food is fresh, and always has an amazing flavor. The owners and workers are so friendly and kind. They gave me a shirt for free for going there so often. And when my father got very sick, he couldn't eat anything. He didn't want to come here cause he never had an appetite. I watched him eat an entire plate and then order left overs. Now when he comes and visits from Salinas he always asks to go to el sombrero while we are here. The Linares' s love you guys! It's like a little piece of a home away from home for me! Don't change a bit!

El Sombrero is such a wonderful restaurant! I love eating here whenever I am in town, the food is delicious and reminds me of home, I definitely recommend!

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Stockton. Great selection of food. Generous servings. Unlimited chips and fixings too. Assorted soups just right for cold days. Selection of several beers ice cold.

This place is probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. They have more wet salsas at the chip bar so if you like it chunky, you might want to look elsewhere, otherwise the meat is tender and the burritos have a nice balance to them when you're eating it, you don't get overwhelmed by there being a surprise slob of sour cream, they make it good.

Man I really don't like bashing places but again this is just my opinions and might help them get back on track, that being said, the person that was at the register was really helpful this being my first time in this place so I ordered what they had suggested the carnitas in a burrito it was was really greasy and the meat wasn't as crispy as I like it to be it also had a couple of pieces cartilage and a bone in it and the chip and salsa bar looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, food on the floor, the bathroom smelled, food inventory just there right on the counter right above the trash cans the employees in kitchen not wearing gloves and coming to work the register I couldn't see if they had wash their hands when they went back to kitchen and that's why a two star rating.

Had a pickup for 5:52 and waited until 7 and there still hadn’t started. The 85 degree weather felt like Winter after standing in there so the Workers had to be sweating all over what they were cooking.

This is the place for authentic Mexican food, good portions and great prices. I get their carne asada tacos. You won't be disapointed.

First time visitors. My wife and I love Mexican food. Very good food, very reasonable prices. I loved their griddle cooking, everything looks fresh, cooking each order, one at a time.
